…As Charged.

I got a message from a dear friend today and it struck something in me…

Something that has become my way of life. It affects me. It affects just about everyone.

”I wish I had done this.”

”I wish I had done that.”

”I wish I had said this or that.”

”I wish I were better.”

I wish, I wish, I wish…

Those words haunt, they discourage, they paralyze.

Lindsay passed away very suddenly in a daze of hospital rooms, beeping sounds, and medical terms.

Good Lord, I wish, I wish, I wish.

The fact is, I did, I did, I did.

I did the best I could, I did the best I knew.

Over the last two years I had to let go of things that I could not change. I have created new things to learn to let go of…

Guilt, it belongs in a courtroom, not a heart.

Depending on your confidence, your insecurities, your morals, your values, it can vary, but guilt lies within all of us… And it lies TO all of us.

Nowhere does God say we should hurt for anything. In fact, He says His son hurt for us. That sort of suffering was handled before we were in our mother’s womb.

He says, repent, be free, rejoice, forgive… Do. Not. Worry.

Repent… it does not mean feel guilty. It means having the wisdom to say your sorry and hand it over. Handing it over means giving it to Him… letting it go. Completely.

He says His burdens are light. Guilt is a daily, heavy burden.

Whether it’s a spiritual guilt, a family related guilt, a work related guilt… let it go. Even if it’s someone else’s unforgiveness, let it go. Hand it over.

Guilt is from the enemy and like a lion, he will devour you. Guilt can make you do crazy things. It can make you stumble.

Guilt is powerful, it is a motivator to react, not respond.

It will keep you up at night, it will bring tears to your eyes, it will take away your peace, your love, your freedom.

Please, live free.

Let Him be the judge. Let Him be your redeemer.

It’s done.

Let it go.

Rest.

In love.

Gabe
