You Are Mine

  1

I am one that gets teary eyed when a song truly hits my heart. This is one that gets me every time.

I will come to you in the silence, I will lift you from all your fear.
You will hear my voice, I claim you as my choice, be still and know I am here.
Do not be afraid, I am with you.
I have called you each by name.
Come and follow me, I will bring you home; I love you and you are mine.

There are so many times that I am consumed by fear. My husband is in a war zone and I have to wait to hear from him. I fear the dreaded doorbell ring and seeing two soldiers dressed in their dress uniforms standing at my door. What would I do? How would I go on? Where would I go?

But then I remember that God comes to me in the silence (those long stretches of time that I don’t hear from Kyle). He will lift me up from all my fears. I will hear His voice and know that He is there for me. Those are the moments that I don’t need to be afraid. He has a beautiful and wonderful plan. I can truly believe that Kyle will return, but I can also know that if he does not return, that I will be ok. God will be there for me. I will take it one day at a time and I will survive.

The one catch is that I must follow Him…. EVERY day!
