Well Done

Lindsay,

Remember when we first started talking about having a baby? πŸ™‚ We were so clueless! If you want to remember the true first time we even talked about it, I have the IM chat from my freshman year of college where we both liked the name Kylie Paige for a girl. We had the boy name picked out before we even started trying too. It was so easy to land on Brody Journey. We just knew that was it. We loved the idea of him having “Bro” in there for Breault and his middle name was not even a discussion… the first boy had to have his daddy’s middle name too. πŸ™‚

Do you remember telling our friends on the way home from Taste Addison that we were going to start trying? Well, that was May 2008 and you were pregnant June 2008. πŸ™‚ We thought it was so easy. Then finding out 4th of July weekend, how awesome was that?!? Then to top it off, before we had even told our friends, Brooke tells us she is pregnant! You were going to get to be pregnant with Brooke! You were so happy to go through this with one of your best friends.

Life was so good… God was being so good to us! Everything we ever wanted and thought about was happening… to us! So what did we do, we sell our house… in 3 days! We move in with your parents and now you were going to get to be taken care of by your momma during your pregnancy. I remember being jealous that I wasn’t going to be the only one taking care of you, but now looking back, I wouldn’t have it any other way!

So lets see, instead of just having a baby, we decide to sell our house, build one, move in with your parents, change jobs… could we add one more thing? πŸ™‚

Those nine months were so amazing. You were so beautiful! You tried to be so healthy to make sure the baby was healthy. Thank you!

When we went to find out the sex, I just knew it was going to be a boy. You just wanted a healthy baby, but I remember a couple times you saying you would like a boy first to be able to take care of his siblings for when we did have a girl. Well we both got our wish! πŸ™‚ God was being so good to us!

So Brody Journey Lewis it was! Here is your post from the announcement to everyone… “It’s a BrOdY!!!”.

Now the fun of really preparing began! The clothes, the crib, the themes… it was all boy!

The month’s passed… showers, work, appointments, ultrasounds, pains, stretching… yet you were so beautiful and so happy!

Then the big day! D (Delivery) Day! Here is your post… “Baby Brody is here!”.

You were so scared, happy, calm, nervous… all at the same time. We were clueless. πŸ™‚

You held our precious gift for the first time…

We took our precious gift home…

You slept…

And played…

And slept…

Time went on and you always knew just what to do. You were a mom now! πŸ™‚ Something you would be for the rest of your life.

What I didn’t tell you enough…

You were an amazing mom.

You carried my two greatest gifts from our Lord into this world.

You literally delivered a blessed gift from God in to this world… You did that.

Life was created inside of you.

God had his hands in you.

He molded something out of nothing in you.

We would go on to have another blessed gift from above with Cash Allen Lewis. You were so excited about having a second, but again we were clueless. πŸ™‚

You had almost an identical pregnancy… “easy” as you would say. You were so happy during your pregnancy with Cash. It was almost like because of Brody, you knew just how much of a blessing it was to have a baby, that it heightened your anticipation with Cash.

Planning for the second was a little easier… we had our home, we had the clothes for the most part, we had the gear, we were pretty prepared.

The months passed and then our newest little blessing from above was delivered by you into this world… Here is your post… “D-Day”.

You held our precious gift for the first time…

We took our precious gift home…

We grew…

We played…

Again, time went on and you knew exactly what to do. You were a mom. That is you.
I know you would want me to turn this around and make this happy because you were a happy momma. So here we go…
You were hugs.
You were kisses.
You were smiles.
You were laughs.
You were a shoulder.
You were a lap.
You were love.
Thank you for being exactly what you needed to be for these boys…
Well done.
Gabe
